1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading or using Orator, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App. Orator is owned and operated by Gregory Ovis, Toronto, Ontario, Canada.

The App is available only to individuals 13 years of age or older. By using the App, you confirm that you meet this minimum age requirement.

2. Purpose of the App — Not Professional Advice

Orator provides public-speaking and communication coaching, AI-generated speech scores, and personalized lesson and routine recommendations based on user-submitted voice recordings.

• The App does not provide medical, therapeutic, speech-language pathology, or other licensed professional advice, diagnosis, or treatment.
• All outputs are informational only and may be incomplete or inaccurate.
• You agree that you will not rely on the App for medical, health, or other professional concerns or decisions.

3. User Accounts

You may sign in using Apple or Google authentication. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activity under your account.

You may delete your account at any time through in-app settings. Upon account deletion, all associated data — including voice recordings, transcripts, metrics, routines, and history — is erased immediately.

4. Subscriptions (“Pro Plan”)

Orator offers optional auto-renewing subscription plans (“Pro Plan”), which may include weekly or annual billing. Prices vary by region.

4.1 Auto-Renewal. Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period.

4.2 Billing. Payment is charged to your Apple ID account at confirmation of purchase. Renewal billing occurs within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period.

4.3 Cancellation. You can manage or cancel your subscription at any time through your Apple ID Settings. We cannot cancel subscriptions on your behalf.

4.4 Refunds. Refunds are handled exclusively by Apple under App Store policies.

5. Acceptable Use

You may not:

• Record any other person without their informed consent where required by law.
• Misuse or reverse-engineer the App or its AI systems.
• Upload harmful, illegal, or offensive content.
• Interfere with app functionality or security.
• Use the App to develop, train, or benchmark any competing speech-coaching, voice-analysis, or AI product.

6. User Content and Ownership

You retain full ownership of your recordings and any content you upload.

By using the App, you grant us a limited license to process your recordings and related data solely for the purpose of generating speech scores, showing your progress, and improving app functionality.

No recordings or personal data are shared or sold to third parties.

7. AI Functionality

The App uses third-party AI and speech technology (including providers such as OpenAI, Microsoft Azure, Groq, Deepgram, and Cartesia) to analyze recordings and generate outputs. You acknowledge that AI results may include errors, may not be accurate, and may vary over time.

You agree that you will not use these results for health, safety, or medical decisions.

8. Privacy

Your privacy is governed by our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these Terms. By using the App, you consent to the handling of your data as described in the Privacy Policy.

9. Analytics & Tracking

We use privacy-respecting product analytics to collect usage data that helps us understand and improve the App. This data is limited to feature usage and technical events and does not include your raw voice recordings. We do not use your data for advertising or to build third-party marketing profiles.

By using the App, you consent to this limited collection of analytics as described above and in our Privacy Policy.

10. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms. You may terminate your account at any time by deleting it within the App. Upon deletion, all your data is erased immediately.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Orator and its operator (Gregory Ovis) are not liable for:

• Any errors or inaccuracies in AI outputs
• Any decisions or actions taken based on the App
• Any loss of data
• Any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages

Your sole remedy for dissatisfaction with the App is to stop using it.

12. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles.

13. Modifications

We may update these Terms at any time. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
